With Saint Patrick’s Day falling on March 17 this week, the Diva’s challenge is to “bring a touch of Irish to your tile.” Very appropriate theme for this week! I wanted to incorporate some sort of shamrock pattern, green coloring, and a celtic knot.
After searching around a bit I settled on Lucky by Adele Bruno for the pattern. A step out is available on her blog here. Since I didn’t feel overly confident in my ability to draw a nice celtic knot, I used celtic knot template 9 from ArtoftheTangle.com. The outline of the knot and the details inside the shamrocks were done with a Sakura Gelly Roll Classic (Ice Icream Smooth) green pen. I colored in the knot with a green Derwent Inktense ink pencil.
Thanks to the Diva for another enjoyable challenge!
Very well done, beautiful.
Thanks so much, Annemarie!
Lovely, clever idea to use a Celtic knot template.
Thanks very much! I do love Celtic knots. One of these days I’ll spend some time to learn how to draw a knot on my own. 😉
Beautiful work!
Thank you, Anja!
